Documents Required for a Renewal ID Card Application

Read carefully: After your certificate has been issued and you have paid the ID card fee described in item 5, you can also submit your application via e-Government (e-Devlet) through the “Özel Güvenlik Kimlik Kartı Başvuruları” (Private Security ID Card Applications) menu. However, if you get an error and cannot complete the application, you need to submit it to the police in person. To do so, once the documents below have been prepared, book an appointment online and hand them in to the “private security branch” at the Şişli District Police Department (Şişli İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü). Different documents may appear on the internet and on the police website; disregard any information that is not on this list.

To book an appointment, you can use http://e-randevu.istanbul.pol.tr. If it says appointments are full, check again the next day. They open new days every day.

  1. The original and a photocopy of the renewal training certificate (issued by our course).
  2. A photocopy of your security ID card and your national identity card (nüfus cüzdanı) (also bring the original security ID card).
  3. 1 biometric photograph (white background; for men, clean-shaven, wearing a tie, taken from the front).
  4. The original and a photocopy of your education certificate (diploma, tasdikname, student certificate, etc.) (an e-Devlet printout is also accepted).
  5. The receipt for the ID card fee (550 TL for 2026) must be taken to the private security branch. The fee can be paid at a Türkiye Halk Bankası branch counter under the “ÖZEL GÜVENLİK KİMLİK KARTI TAHSİLATI” (Private Security ID Card Collection) payment. At an ATM (only Halkbank ATMs work), select the menus GİRİŞ, FATURA VE ÖDEMELER, DİĞER ÖDEMELER, ÖZELGUV.KİMLK KART-POL.TES- in that order, then enter your phone number and Turkish ID number (TC kimlik no) and continue.
  6. Petition and tracking slip (the system displays them on screen when you book the appointment online; you only need to print them out and sign them).

Where to submit the documents: Istanbul private security branch, inside the Şişli District Police Department (Şişli İlçe Emniyet Müdürlüğü) (you can get off the metrobus at the Mecidiyeköy stop).
