Firearms (Conversion) Training
If you are qualified as an unarmed private security officer and want to work in armed posts, you do not have to retake basic training from the start. Firearms (Conversion) Training is the programme offered by Çamlıca Private Security Training Institution (Çamlıca Özel Güvenlik Eğitim Kurumu) for those who want to move from unarmed to armed status.
Who Is the Training For?
The programme is for holders of an unarmed private security certificate or ID card.
If your certificate or ID card has expired, call us before registering so that we can work out the right programme for you together. If you do not yet have any private security certificate, you can enrol directly in the Armed Private Security Basic Training programme.
General Requirements for Armed Duty
Under Article 10 of Law No. 5188 on Private Security Services (5188 sayılı Özel Güvenlik Hizmetlerine Dair Kanun), the main requirements for becoming a private security officer are:
- Being a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye
- Being at least 18 years old
- Having completed at least eight-year primary education or lower secondary school for unarmed duty, and at least high school or equivalent for armed duty
- Having no physical or mental illness or disability that could prevent the performance of the duty
- Having no conviction for the offences listed in the Law, and a positive outcome of the security investigation
Those who obtained an unarmed ID card with an eight-year primary education or lower secondary school diploma cannot move to armed duty without a high school or equivalent diploma.
After the Training

The private security ID card is valid for 5 years; to renew your card before it expires, you need to complete the Armed Private Security Renewal Training.
The general official fees for 2026 are: private security ID card fee 550 TL, private security licence fee (ruhsat harcı) 8,568 TL. Please confirm with us before registering which of these will be payable when you move from unarmed to armed.
