Armed Private Security Basic Training

A basic training programme organised under Law No. 5188 for candidates who wish to become armed private security officers for the first time. The programme consists of a total of 120 lesson hours: 100 hours of basic training plus 20 hours of firearms knowledge and shooting training for candidates who will serve armed.

Who Can Attend?

  • Be a citizen of the Republic of Türkiye
  • Be at least 18 years old
  • For armed duty, be a graduate of high school or an equivalent school
  • Meet the criminal record requirements set out in Article 10 of Law No. 5188
  • Have no health condition preventing duty (medical report required)

Course Content

  • Private security law and personal rights
  • Security measures and patrol services
  • Person and crowd management, close protection
  • Narcotics awareness and relations with general law enforcement
  • First aid and fire safety
  • Effective communication
  • Firearms knowledge, shooting and safety rules

Examination and Certification

Candidates who complete the training sit the written and practical (shooting) examination held by the General Directorate of Security. Successful candidates become entitled to an armed private security ID card.
